Spring Indoor :: General Information

The Cinema Studies Indoor Soccer team will be competing for the first time in the NYU Intramural Sports league. This team will be a complement to our established spring softball team and fall outdoor soccer team.

General Information

We will play in a 5-on-5 indoor soccer league. Men will play against men, and women against women.

This is championship league. It is also single-elimination tournament, meaning that a team will be eliminated after just one loss.

Our team will represent Cinema Studies, and we're playing to win.

Rules

Each game will last fifty minutes with two twenty-five minute halves. Teams will consist of seven starting players. There will be no goalkeepers and a small goal will be used.

Consult the full list of NYU Intramural Sports Rules.

Unsportsman-like conduct is subject to university disciplinary action.

Eligibility

Only undergraduate and graduate student members of Coles/Palladium may play, who are not playing for another team at any point during Spring 2005 semester.

Bring your NYU ID with you to present at the bus and on the field.

Equipment and Gear

You might considering acquiring shin guards and blue soccer socks. Also, you can wear either sneakers or soccer flats. However, metal or plastic cleats are not allowed.

Location

All games will take place at Chelsea Piers. The League charters a bus from Coles Recreation Center (southwest corner of Bleecker and Mercer Streets) to the park.

You can either take the bus, which departs 45 minutes before game time, or go directly to the fields.

Practices

We will hold practices at the Coles Mini Gym on Thursday evenings, usually at 5:30 PM. Check the team schedule for exact times.

Fees

Aside from the Coles membership, there are no league fees. Your tuition or matriculation fee covers them.

Dates and Scheduling

During the season, we play a fifty minute game on Mondays, time of day to be announced. The season begins on March 20.

We may also have some practices or exhibition games throughout the season. Check our team schedule for the most current information.

In addition, each week the NYU Intramurals posts a league schedule. This schedule details our opponent and the starting time of our game.
